Express & Echo: Failing local charitys
Opening earlier this week, the London Town Barber's approached the Echo in their very own offices in Sidwell Street to find out what charities are in the area, as when a new Barber's shop opens it is the tradition to give the first day's takings to charity.
Being new in town, Mr Owen, the proprietor, wanted to give his takings to a local cause, something that could really help people in Exeter. Having approached the Echo staff he was told that 'someone will be in touch'. That was on Monday.
Mr Owen has still heard bugger all from the self proclaimed "champion of its' readers and its' city" and has instead found and donated the first 3 days takings, over £150 to the St Sidwell's Centre which aims to improve the physical health, emotional well-being and quality of life of local individuals and groups.
It's a shame all the Echo are worried about is advertising revenue, and not actually helping and supporting it's readers and it's city.
The London Town Barber's shop is located opposite the Duke of York and is open from 7:30am till 7pm, and believe us, this guy is no health and beauty drop-out from Exeter College, this is the real deal.
Brought up in London Mr Owen started his career as a lather boy and now runs his own shop. Just make sure you don't have gel in your hair when you visit. The plumber hasn't been so there's no running water yet.
Pop in and tell them we sent you. You won't get a discount, but you will get a proper hair cut from a proper barber.
