Wet blanket brigade

Kids are yet again in for a rough time of it after they have been blamed for throwing water balloons at cars in Wimple on Saturday.

Children have already been blamed for throwing dog excrement around in Whimple, seemingly without evidence to back it up, and are now thought to be behind this latest tomfoolery, although yet again, there is no evidence to point toward the culprits.

Claire Moore, who lives in the village, said: "There has to be a worry that these things can escalate, from dog mess, to water bombs to - whatever next?"

Escalate: Verb - 1. increase in extent or intensity

Now I don't know about you, but out of the two I'd prefer to be hit in the face with a water-balloon than with a steaming pile of dog excretion. Presumably the next campaign of horror these village terrorists will focus on will be putting whoopee cushions under the seats of prominent public figures.

Disgraceful.
