Can you tell what's missing from this picture?

The Echo are going to be up in arms over this one, I can tell already. They haven't run a story about Exeter City Council cutting down any tree's since Princesshay opened.
This latest piece of handywork isn't even in the council's usual target list. It's not old, it's not (especially) near the cathedral and no-one seems to have noticed.
Another tree nearer the PDSA has also been removed and it's stump is currently sporting a fashionable day-glow 'headband' to stop people walking into it. You'd have thought they would have cut it flush to the pavement really, much less dangerous, but that would have required some modicome of intelligence.
Unlikely in this city. More treewatch later.
