Parking prices on the up
In the 'Climate Change Strategy' document the council say they "will consider applying an additional, though modest, 'carbon offset fee' on Council car-park charges, which will be used entirely to invest in sustainable transport and energy initiatives within Exeter."
How modest the council will be with these charges is yet to be seen, although if it continues to sneak in a congestion charge on city centre traffic this could kill the High Street once and for all.
If stopping anyone from coming into Exeter is the best way to cut emissions then rebuilding the whole of Princesshay may prove to be another exorcise in pointlessness.
