DHMO found in Exeter's drinking water supplies

18/06/07
Research has been released today showing alarming amounts of Dihydrogen Monoxide in Exeter's drinking water.

Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is a colorless and odorless chemical compound, also referred to by some as Dihydrogen Oxide, Hydrogen Hydroxide, Hydronium Hydroxide, or simply Hydric acid. Its basis is the unstable radical Hydroxide, the components of which are found in a number of caustic, explosive and poisonous compounds such as Sulfuric Acid, Nitroglycerine and Ethyl Alcohol.

Each year, Dihydrogen Monoxide is a known causative component in many thousands of deaths and is a major contributor to millions upon millions of pounds in damage to property and the environment.

A spokesman for South West Water said there was "nothing to worry about", although further investigation has revealed the chemical is used as an industrial solvent and coolant, in animal research laboratories and in pesticide production and distribution.
