Echo out for blood

17/06/07
The local paper will be up in arms tomorrow about the latest incident involving a 'samurai' sword, after a sword was 'allegedly' involved near an assault.

Will liberal sprinklings of doubt, all that seems clear is that police were at a house in Sheridan Road on Saturday morning. An occupant of the house took a sword away from a 40-year-old fella, who then was arrested.

It seems unlikely that the sword was used in the attack, however you can be sure which way our local rag will be skewing things... "Police officer attacked with Samurai sword".

It's alleged that the 40-year-old was threatening someone with the sword and that after his mate took his sword away he then attacked the copper. Either way, it will no doubt be sensational news, and another feather in the paper's campaign of moral indignation.
