Car-boot sale not breaking the law shocker
As part of their continuing campaign to drive the sale of ornamental swords underground the Echo talk to a responsible car-booter who doesn't sell to kids under 18, refuses selling to aggressive gangs, oh and they were blunt.
While the rag is full of good intentions, the majority of knife crime was carried out using kitchen knives, and whilst high profile, samurai swords account for very few incidents.
Mr Baker, who has sold swords at the car-boot near Lympstone for nearly 10 years said the situation the Echo had created was like living in limbo.
"Either ban them or don't ban them. Then everyone knows where they stand."
PC Terry Hodgson, a Devon and Cornwall police spokesman, was concerned by the sale of the swords at the boot sale.
He said: "We would urge anybody in possession of such a weapon to think very carefully about the need to own such an implement."
If you have thought carefully about the need to own such a well presented ornament, the car boots sales are on Sunday's from 10am till 2.
