Affordable housing, my arse!
0 commentsThose already on the housing market will be rubbing their hands with glee as housing prices continue to rise, and bastard landlords decide it's time to raise the rent yet again as 'housing prices in the area are going up'.
How a landlord can justify raising prices on a house he has already purchased is beyond me, maybe his yacht needs new sails.
Meanwhile, anyone who actually wants to buy a house has spent all their money on the ever-increasing rent and certainly can't afford the astronomic prices Exeter now boasts. The only people who can are the bloody landlords, who can cream yet more money out of the folks who really need houses.
It used to be just the University that was 'reassuringly expensive', but this kind of thing is taking expensive to whole new levels. A tax on landlords wouldn't help the situation either, as you can guarantee any fees would be passed on down the line.
As for the new Princesshey flats, the grey brigade have already set up camp outside the offices and are there for he long haul. Anyone who actually works for a living and isn't claiming benefits or a pension has no chance as the flats are being dished out on a 'first come, first served basis'.
Maybe instead of 'Exeter, it's a capitol city' the council should adopt 'Exeter, raping you hard in the ass for all you're worth' as their slogan.
