Drugs are cool, M'kay?

Exeter has yet another claim to fame this morning as the Echo revealed that a 14 year-old child was arrested for dealing a class C substance and a 12 year-old is banged up for possession.

Nick Meller, senior practitioner at Exeter Drugs Project Young Persons Service, said young people using cannabis was the second most common problem it now dealt with after alcohol.

"Kids these days just don't know where to get the good stuff. This 14-year-old was caught offering to supply cannabis resin in Exeter. No-one in there right mind smokes resin."

Having been stopped and searched by a police officer in Barley Lane, Redhills, the lad was found to have a quantity of cannabis on him and was arrested. He was held in custody for six hours where he met 3 people who could get him much better grass in the cells.

"Cannabis is quite easy to obtain and is relatively cheap and young people have the disposable income to chip in together £2 or £3 each and buy an ounce of it. Some get it off an older sibling."

Where Mr Meller is getting his drugs from is a mystery, but wherever it is, put us down for a ten spot.
