Echo website worse than ever
0 commentsThe newly designed website is supposed to use the recent AJAX technology to create a more centralised and coherent experience, but it looks like the implementation has gone all to cock leaving the site looking a complete shambles.
At least users of Mozilla Firefox can skip the annoying video that loads on the frontpage. Not by choice however, it just won't render unless you're using Internet Explorer.

Page with bad formatting and random snippets of code.
The new logo is also somewhat questionable. It looks like it has been drawn by a blind 5 year old, with a crayon. Where's the nicely rendered blue logo gone?
The main page, with the clever AJAX tabbed pages, is to be the only page we've found so far that doesn't throw up some kind of error. We're guessing the designer hasn't heard of sand-boxing.
It also looks like although they've pushed the boat out on the redesign, they still haven't put any more money into the systems that actually run the site as it's still painfully slow, with some articles failing to open completely at certain times of the day.
Come on 'The Echo', we expect better things of you. Oh, no wait, we don't.
