City power cut

Residents of Sidwell Street today awoke to find the power had been completely cut to the city centre leaving those in the area confused and bewildered.

Alarms sang out to anyone who would listen and kettle's throughout the area didn't boil.

Power was returned at about 12:45 without warning or explanation, although it's suspected that work on the Princesshey Development may have caused the outage.

Some lucky residents of the Grecian Quarter may have managed to sleep through the nightmare situation, but without power it's suspected many may have gone slowly mad in the dark.

A further cut at 13:15 set any alarms which had previously been silenced off again, indicating the problems are far from over.
