We're on a road to no-where
0 commentsRuts, cracking and bumpiness were among the primary problems detected by the hi-tech laser device Scanner, but it's feared many of these have only recently been put in in the councils ongoing 'traffic calming' campaign against motorists.
The council have already managed to con a budget increase of £27.3m out of Government coffers, probably as all remaining funding is thrown at projects like the Middlemoor 'roundabout' at the end of the tax year.
Tim Jones, chairman of the Devon and Cornwall Business Council, said roads were "an important link" and were useful for both visitors and tourists.
In the meantime, the authority is looking to save £1.8m from its revenue of the budget for highways, including scaling back work on "patching, drainage works, repairing crash barriers and footway maintenance."
DCC being safety concious as always then...
