Business studies lecturer arrested
0 commentsA court heard how Bowskill had nine £10 bags of heroin which he was selling to known addicts outside Victoria House, opposite Central Station, when police officers arrested him.
PC Andrew Elliott, the arresting officer, said as they were watching, Bowskill stopped in the foyer of the college, gestured to the two men who had been joined by a third, unknown, man and the three of them crossed the road.
Defence counsel Jonathan Barnes suggested to PC Elliott: "Any idea that Bowskill was there to supply heroin was pure speculation. He was simply giving a lecture in economics at the time."
"You jumped to a conclusion and grabbed the wrong man," suggested Mr Barnes.
Students were shocked to discover that their lecturer had been arrested, although they did make use of the rest of the lecture as they all went to the cathedral green to skin up.
