Reenactment of Blitz in Wonford

A massive reenactment of wartime Exeter was put together last night in Wonford, with over 300 locals taking part.

Woodwater Lane was the centre of the fun as a massive fire was set in the industrial estate, recreating the fun and excitement of wartime bombing.

As an added bonus, the fire has engulfed surrounding buildings and there is concern about two oxy-acetylene tanks which could go up at any time, just like an old fashioned unexploded German bomb.

At least 16 people, from children to pensioners, and two dogs were taken to the Coaver Club at County Hall to get a better view of the blaze.
