well, I skipped work to go to another job interview because its better paid and I'd be more appreciated for more money and less hours. and got fired.

What can I say Mark? If that's what the Powers that Be have in store for you then it was meant to be. There may be some long-winded drawn out plan in place that we'll never be aware of until it's too late...
Maybe you'll meet the love of your life in the queue at the unemployment office, who are we to say what lies around the next corner? You do like single mums with 3 kids from 3 different fathers, right?
If not then maybe you were destined to die sad and alone. Just a thought, admittedly not a very cheery one, but what can you do?
