On yer bike!

Dear Sir,

When will the people of Exeter-shire realise that industrial revolution has brought forth a wondrous device called the bike. Whilst hammering along the city's bicycle lanes it astounds me how many half-wits walk in the bike lanes, leaving the section clearly marked for pedestrians empty. Every cycle involves navigating around dogs and toddlers. If 15 stone of man and metal moving at 25mph hits little Betsy-Sue then it will hurt!

Blackster

We're glad to hear that there are folk amongst us that are doing their bit for the environment, although we've always wondered if by doing exorcise you're increasing your carbon output.

Pretty much the whole of Exeter is being riddled with cycle paths at the moment, a trip out to Sowton at the moment is almost impossible without falling foul of roadworks to extend the bike network at the expense of the pedestrian.

That said, in this caring sharing society we are supposed to learn to share, and I'm sure you've ridden on a pavement or two in your time, so learn to love the interesting new soft, bouncy obstacles, they're less dangerous than those large metal car things when you hit them.

Of course you have got a bell on your bike, haven't you?
