Independant school saved by alcoholic monks

30/11/06 - 0 comments
The only Catholic secondary school in Cornwall has been purchased by the pissed up monks of Buckfast Abbey.

St Michael's Catholic Small School in Truro had to find £250,000 or face closure. Nearly £50,000 was raised in a local campaign to save the school, but in the end the Monks stepped in to take it over.

This is thouht to be the first PFI school funded by Monks and it's not thought that they will be closing the sports field to save cash [1].

The Monks may have funded the school using the profits from their Buckfast Wine sales, which are high in alcohol and low in fibre.
