Missing: One church

Reports are coming out of Russia that barefaced thieves have stolen a 200 year old church from the village of Komarovo.

The church, which was built in 1809, and stolen some time at the end of last year. It's thought that thieves stole the church a brick at a time as it's in a remote area which is infrequently visited by the clergy.

The church itself was not in use and the theft was only discovered when the Church considered resuming services on the site.

A survey of the site a few month previous found the church to be structurally sound but now all that remains are a few bricks, part of a wall and foundations showing where the church once stood.

Perhaps it was the rapture?
