MySpace founder was teen terrorist hacker

Tom Anderson, one of the co-founders of MySpace has been revealed as "Lord Flathead", the leader of an early black-hat hacker group who held the Chase Manhattan Bank to ransom.

It's alleged that Anderson dialled into the banks computer system back in 1985 when security was much more lax, changed security passwords, effectively locking out authorised bank staff, saying that "unless he was given free use of the system he would destroy records".

After the police were tipped off by the bank around fifty FBI agents then raided the homes of Anderson and his friends and seized 25 personal computers for investigation.

No arrests were ever made, but as the miscreants were around 15 and under prosecutable age they were unlikely to be. He agreed to stop hacking into secured systems and was put on probation. His computer was never returned.
