Tom and Jerry: Corrupting our children

The Hanna Barbera cartoon Tom and Jerry has been labelled a menace to society as the cartoon shows horrific violence towards animals.

There are fears that children watching the show will be influenced into copying such acts a hitting cats with saucepans and dropping an anvil onto a bulldog. Animal rights enthusiasts have claimed a victory as George Lucas' ILM have been drafted in to create 'special editions' of the cartoons which remove all violence and fun.

The cartoons have long been blamed for the evils of society in general and the steadying decay of mankind.
