Hamster falls off wheel

A hampster was fired at 300 miles an hour down a runway yesterday in an attempt to beat the British land-speed record. On a second run, the hampster veered off in an uncontrolable spin.

Richard 'the Hampster' Hammond was driving the current record holding vehicle the 'Vampire Dragster' when it veered off the track and overturning.

Hammond was air-lifted to hospital after his jet-car was recovered upside-down and dug into the soft earth around the crash site. Even if all had gone well, the record would not have been broken as no officials were present to independantly verify the attempt.

He is currently said to be in a stable but critical condition in hospital this morning and we wish Richard a speedy recovery. Get well soon.
