Clarkson admits he was wrong

08/01/08 - 0 comments

After publishing his bank account details in the Sun newspaper Jeremy Clarkson found one cheeky scally had set up a £500 direct debit to a charity.

In his article about the fuss surrounding the loss of personal details by the HM Revenue and Customs offices claimed that even with his bank details "all you'll be able to do with them is put money into my account. Not take it out."

He was proved wrong however when he found a mischievous reader had set up a direct debit to the charity Diabetes UK.

"The bank cannot find out who did this because of the Data Protection Act and they cannot stop it from happening again.

"I was wrong and I have been punished for my mistake."
