Hammond crash car for sale

The Northampton owners of the 300mph Vampire jet dragster want to sell the car which was built at the Santa Pod workshops around 1981.

The vehicle was up for auction on eBay with a starting price of £2,500 as it's owners are trying to clear out some space in their workshop.

The car is described as "In first-class pre-crash condition, Vampire is now a little the worse for wear after its much-publicised excursion into the weeds. It is being sold as scrap without any warranty or guarantees whatsoever."

The auction was ended early however without a sale being agreed on the auction site so it's unclear what has happened to the iconic car with one careful owner and one crap driver.
