Day of the dead... not!

The south-eastern European state of Romania seems to have had a rather moribund week as the dead seem to be popping up everywhere.

First, Marius Varzar, 23, from Botosani admitted to police to killing his friend and leaving them dead in the street.

After being driven the 100 miles back to his home town, police discovered that the body that had been found had died of natural causes.

It turns out Marius had simply run out of money whilst out on a piss-up and needed a lift home.

Meanwhile, Florin Radu Hretu, 27, from Pascani, had received the dreadful news that his mother had passed away. Having got time off work and borrowed around £150 from his bosses his co-workers were surprised when his old lady turned up at the offices.

Reports were sketchy as to whether the zombified remains of his mother attempted to eat anyone's brains, or whether Florin was just out for a quick buck.
