Loadsa money

18/07/07 - 1 comment

In Aylsham, Norfolk, a teenager expecting to receive the PlayStation 2 he bought on eBay opened the box to discover 65,400 euros (around £44,000) stuffed in the box. Not bad for a 95 quid investment.

The Norfolk police are holding the money under the Proceeds of Crime Act while the matter case investigated, but the family could be able to apply for it to be returned to them under the Police Property Act.

Whether this is a new type of money laundering is unknown, although someone somewhere is probably getting concrete wellies after handing their mob boss a box containing a PlayStation instead of wadges of cash.
