The machine that doesn't go 'Ping!'
Frederik Moelner, 17 from Landshut in southern Germany, was in exactly this frame of mind after a car-crash and was trying to sleep in the recovery ward.
Unfortunately for Moelner, his neighbour in the next bed was having breathing difficulties and was being kept on a respirator. The noise of the life support machine, as it helped 76-year-old Hermann Berghof breathe, kept waking him up.
It was at this point that he popped over and unplugged the noisy device, hoping for a bit of shut-eye. Unfortunately, being a life support machine, alarms rang and the nursing staff promptly reconnected the life support machine.
Moelner is now being questioned by police, and still hasn't had any sleep.
